USDA-ARS-MWA, at NCAUR, Peoria, IL has a requirement for a Differential
Scanning Calorimeter System. The DSC will be utilized to study the
thermal behavior of materials containing or derived from vegetable oils
by the Oil Chemical Research Unit. In addition to conventional DSC
operation, the system must also be designed to collect and anlyze data
to separate thermodynamic (heat capacity-related) events such as glass
transition from kinetic (``heat release'') events such as crystalline
restructuring and ploymer cross-linking. The system must be capable of
separating these types of events from analysis of data collected
during one experiment. The system must be designed to function as
either a conventional or modulated (or equivalent) DSC and switching
between the two must be automated via the controller. Solicitation will
be available on or about 08/10/95. Requests must be in writing by mail
or transmitted to facsimile number (309) 681-6680. All responsible
parties may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Agency.
