Z -- PROVIDE RENOVATIONS TO BUILDING H, MORGANTOWN, WVA SOL 95-175 DUE 090795 POC Contact Leonard W. Sandberg at (404)842-6553 Provide all necessary labor, materials and equipment required for work to modify stairs, modify third floor and accomplish switch gear upgrade at NIOSH Facilities, Building H, Morgantown, West Virginia. (Task 1): This renovation includes the conversion of approximately 200 square feet per floor of an existing interior stairwell in the H Building to other uses. Major work activities for this task in the H Building include, but are not limited to, the following: (1) Removal of the precast stairs, landings, railings, and other components. (2) Construction in part of the space of an elevator shaft and the installation of a Government provided elevator. (3) Installation of various utilities in portions of the space, using that portion as a vertical shaft. (4) The complete redistribution of the electrical systems within the existing service shafts. (5) The replacement of the electrical duct system. (6) No hazardous material removal, including asbestos abatement, is included in this project. (Task 2): Major work activities for this task in the H Building include, but are not limited to, the following: Third Floor Modifications: This modification includes the conversion of approximately 3150 square feet of mechanical and electrical equipment area into an open area suitable for future program activities. Currently, the space contains the air handling equipment, chillers, motor control center, and associated piping and utility systems for the H Building. With the recent construction of a new companion building, the L Building, adjacent to the H Building, the chiller for the H Building is contained in the L Building's central plant. This has allowed CDC to renovate the space from a mechanical/electrical space into a program useable space. Major work activities in the H Building for this task include, but are not limited to, the following: (1) Remove existing chillers. (2) Remove existing supply and exhaust air handling units and replace with new units on roof of H Building. (3) Remove existing motor control center and replace with new one. (4) Removal, relocation, and/or replacement as designated of existing components of the clean system, chilled water system, steam/heating system, life safety system, and electrical system. (5) Removal and/or replacement of roof mounted exhaust fans and associated components. (6) Installation of new CMU wall and finish system for wall, and hollow metal door frame assemblies. (7) No hazardous materials removal, including asbestos abatement, is included in this project. (Task 3): Switchgear Upgrade: This work is for the electrical upgrade of the existing H Building electrical service, from the service entrance switchboards to the distribution panels on each floor. Major work activities in the H Building for this task include, but are not limited to, the following: (1) The two existing 480Y/277 volt service entrance switchboards shall be replaced with two low voltage metal-enclosed 1600 ampere, 480/277V switchboards. (1a) The replacement switchboards shall include at least as many feeder breakers as the existing switchboard, with provisions for spares and space for the future expansion. (2) The existing busway connection between the outdoor secondary main Westinghouse circuit breaker and the existing indoor main switchboard shall be replaced by new conduit runs. (3) The existing distributions fused switchboards located in main electrical room shall be replaced by solid state control molded case circuit breaker panelboards for equipment upgrade in the future. This procurement is a total set-aside for Small Business concerns. Cost range for this requirement is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Bid bonds will be required. Subsequently, Payment and Performance bonds will be required from the successful Offeror. Solicitation Package 95-175 will be available on or about August 8, 1995 for a nonrefundable fee of $125.00 per package. Only written requests with payment will be honored. Checks must be made payable to the Secretary of the Treasury. (0201)
