217-2208. The U. S. Postal Service intends to issue a competitive
solicitation for an Integrated Storage and Material Distribution System
for the new Material Distribution Center, which will be located in
South River, NJ. This requirement consists of but not limited to static
bin shelving, interchangeable pallet storage racks, stock
selector/orderpicker trucks, forklift trucks, full and break case
picking modules, and a in the rack guidance system in accordance with
the statement of work and drawings. The estimated completion time for
this requirement is 150 days. Offerors will be required to submit both
technical and business proposals. Technical evaluation factors listed
in descending order of importance are as follows: Factor 1 - Break
Case Picking Module; Factor 2 - Project Plan, Past Experience, and
Proposed Project Manager; Factor 3 - Full Case Picking Module; Factor
4 - Racking Storage; Factor 5 - Stock Selectors/Forklifts; and Factor
6 - Training Programs. Award will be made to the responsible offeror
submitting the best technical proposal at the most advantageous price
to the U. S. Postal Service. There will be a mandatory preproposal
conference and walk through on August 24, 1995 at the Material
Distribution Center, 152 Highway 206 South, Somerville, NJ 08877-9998
at 10:00 AM. Solicitations will be available on or about August 8,
1995. Request for solicitation must be in writing and received within
