Z -- UPGRADE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM, BLDG. 510 POC Contact Point, J.E. Teahan, Contracts Admin., (516)282-3140 This contract will be set aside for bidding by small businesses only. SIC code 1731 applies. Work consists of an upgrade to the fire alarm system in the north section of Building 510. The work includes decommissioning an existing Gamewell ''Vigalarm'' system and installing a new multiplexed fire alarm system. Two new fire alarm control panels will be purchased and installed by Brookhaven. The contractor will be responsible for the purchase and installation of all detectors as well as the installation and termination of all conduit and wir to the field devics. Contractor must be qualified to install fire alarm systems per the latest edition of NFPA 72. Estimated construction cost is $100,000 to $250,000. Estimated construction time is 8 weeks. Bid documents will be available on or about August 15, 1995. A 20% bid bond is required. Payment and performance bonds are required after contract award. Brookhaven is charging a non-refundable fee of $20 for bid documents. Personal checks made out to ''Brookhaven National Laboratory'' are acceptable. Checks may be sent immediately and bid packages will be mailed upon availability. Requests for bid packages received without proper payment will not be acknowledged. (0200)
