Officer, 505/845-6156. The DOE/AL intends to procure on a sole source
basis, Vehicle Interface Controller (VIC) boards. The DOE/AL requires
the following boards and software: 14 Matrix MSX-CPU221-NSNL 68020; 14
Matrix DX-P/AD-SNL A-D Boards; 7 Matrix SI04AZ242SNL Serial Boards; 11
Matrix MSX-SI04AZ244SNL Serial Boards; 9 Matrix MSX-RamRom-2F5S Memory
Boards; and a VxWorks Software License. The boards must be compatible
with the existing VIC fleet. The VxWorks software is proprietary to
Matrix Corp. The intended contractor is Matrix Corporation, 1203 New
Hope Road, Raleigh, NC 27610. The sole source authority is 41 U.S.C.
253 (c)(1), which allows procurement of highly specialized supplies
available from only one source and no other supplies will satisfy
agency requirements. Delivery date is expected within 90 days after
award of contract. The recommended SIC code is 3672 and the size
standard is 500 employees. This contract action is for supplies for
which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one
source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify
their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or to
submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for
competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days
after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by
the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the
requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is
solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as
a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for
the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
procurement. Responses to this notice of intent should include
sufficient technical information to determine if the vendor can meet
the needs of the Government. The FIRMR does not apply to this
procurement. Only written responses to this notice will be accepted and
should be addressed to the point of contact, Rosa M. Amparan, at the
above listed address and received on or before August 10, 1995. Any
