Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a sole source contract to
General Electric Medical Systems for a maintenance service support
agreement, to include 2 option years, for a GE Computed Tomography (CT)
Scanner System (model 9800) and a GE Gamma Scintillation Imaging Camera
(model 400AC/T). The maintenance service support for the Gamma Camera
shall require unlimited repair (to include all parts, labor and travel,
as well as, emergency repairs 7 days per week) and semi-annual
preventive maintenance and calibraton. The contractor shall provided
installation of any/all engineering changes or design improvements
recommended or required by the manufacturer of the equipment and
utilize only repair parts approved or certified by the equipment
manufacturer. Maintenance service support for the CT Scanner shall
require unlimited repair (to include all parts, tubes, labor, and
travel), preventive maintenance, and calibration. The contractor shall
provide telediagnostic capabilities 24 hours per day, Monday through
Friday, as well as, between the hours of 0830 and 1730 (CST) on
weekends and holidays. Telediagnostic services shall include, but not
be limited to, remote detection and correction of software/program
errors and remote diagnosis of system status, operator errors and
equipment faults. The contractor shall provide, at no additional cost
to the Government, the necessary hardware, software, and literature to
allow for the accomplishment of telediagnosis of system status and
system faults. Note: Telediagnostic in this context refers to the
lining of a diagnostic computer system at a remote location with the
computed tomography system itself. This is not a formal solicitation.
The synopsis of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request
for proposals/offers. Contractors who can provide the required
maintenance service support are invited to submit in writing an
affirmative response which includes, as a minimum, information
regarding the proposed services, applicable pricing data, and any
additional information indicating a bona fide ability to meet the
specific requirements. All responsible sources may respond to this
synopsis, and all such responses will be considered by the Agency. If
no written responses are received within 15 calendar days, a sole
