ROTORCRAFT INDUSTRY TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION (RITA). NASA, the U.S. Army, the FAA, and the U.S. Navy are undertaking a co-funded Government and Industry rotorcraft research program. To facilitate this interaction, members of the U.S. rotorcraft industry are forming the Rotorcraft Industry Technology Association (RITA) to interact with the Government through a cooperative research agreement. The goal of the research is to develop technology that will enhance the competitive capabilities of the U.S. rotorcraft industry while ensuring the superiority of U.S. military rotorcraft. Principal membership in RITA is open to U.S. owned and controlled companies engaged in rotorcraft vehicle manufacturing and design. Supporting membership is open to all U.S. owned and controlled companies which produce equipment for rotorcraft, are significantly involved in active research on rotorcraft or equipment for rotorcraft, or design and specify materials or products for use in the rotorcraft manufacturing process. Associate membership is open to U.S. universities or non-profit organizations active in rotorcraft research. Annual dues to defray RITA administrative expenses are contemplated at approximately $60,000 for principal members and $6,000 for supporting members with no dues requirements for associate members. Research proposals will be accepted from members only. Initial proposals for research tasks to be undertaken in 1995 will be due on or about August 8, 1995. Proposals for research tasks to be undertaken in 1996 will be due on or about October 12, 1995. Organizations interested in RITA membership should contact RITA for additional information.
