COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF july 17,1995 PSA#1389ROTORCRAFT INDUSTRY TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATION (RITA). NASA, the U.S. Army,
the FAA, and the U.S. Navy are undertaking a co-funded Government and
Industry rotorcraft research program. To facilitate this interaction,
members of the U.S. rotorcraft industry are forming the Rotorcraft
Industry Technology Association (RITA) to interact with the Government
through a cooperative research agreement. The goal of the research is
to develop technology that will enhance the competitive capabilities
of the U.S. rotorcraft industry while ensuring the superiority of U.S.
military rotorcraft. Principal membership in RITA is open to U.S.
owned and controlled companies engaged in rotorcraft vehicle
manufacturing and design. Supporting membership is open to all U.S.
owned and controlled companies which produce equipment for rotorcraft,
are significantly involved in active research on rotorcraft or
equipment for rotorcraft, or design and specify materials or products
for use in the rotorcraft manufacturing process. Associate membership
is open to U.S. universities or non-profit organizations active in
rotorcraft research. Annual dues to defray RITA administrative expenses
are contemplated at approximately $60,000 for principal members and
$6,000 for supporting members with no dues requirements for associate
members. Research proposals will be accepted from members only. Initial
proposals for research tasks to be undertaken in 1995 will be due on or
about August 8, 1995. Proposals for research tasks to be undertaken in
1996 will be due on or about October 12, 1995. Organizations
interested in RITA membership should contact RITA for additional
