Repair Building 143, USSOCOM, MacDill AFB, FL. The existing building contains three floors, each floor has 8,293 square feet gross area. The project includes gutting the three floors, removing the asbestos floor tile, construction of some interior metal stud and drywall partitions with doors and metal frames for private offices, insulating and drywall on the inside of the exterior walls, new flooring of carpet and ceramic tile, suspended acoustical tile ceilings, new rest rooms, an elevator serving all three floors, new HVAC system reusing the existing chiller and serving new air handlers on each floor with duct work concealed above the ceiling, new plumbing fixtures connecting, for the most part, to the existing plumbing, a completely new electrical system including a new transformer and consisting of lighting, general purpose receptacles, IG receptacles for computers, combination telephone/LAN devices, and a fire alarm system transmitted to the base fire station. A large portion of the building will be ``open'' space suitable for systems furniture. The building will be handicapped accessible. Replacement of windows will be an additive. The magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The solicitation will be issued on or about 31 July 1995. The bid opening date will be on or about 31 August 1995. The proposed contract listed here is being considered for 100 percent set-aside for small disadvantaged business (SDB) concerns. SDB concerns interested in having te project set-aside should, as early as possible but not later than 15 days of this notice, indicate interest by providing previous project references of similar type work, bonding capacity, and a positive statement of eligibility as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued as unrestricted without further notice.
