demolition of CPO Club Building 104 (12,985 SF), Auto Hobby Building
190 (5,700 SF), Building No. 133 (1,536 SF) Building No. 128 (1,240
SF), Building No. 134 (634 SF) and Building No. 136 (600 SF). Asbestos
abatement and removalof lead paint are included as part of this
demolition work. The project will construct a two-story, 11,650 SF
brick masonry and steel frame addition to Building 199 (Walker Hall).
Foundations will consist of prestressed concrete piles
supportingperimeter concrete grade beams. Steel columns will be
supported on concrete pile caps. The first floor will consist of a 10
thick reinforced concrete slab on grade. The floors above will consist
of 4 thick composite concrete slabs. Exterior wallswill consist of
insulated tinted glass. Interior walls will be concrete masonry. The
new addition will provide classroom/lab, high bay gun labs for two (2)
large gun mounts, an armory and other support spaces. The pitched roof
will be an insulatedroof deck assembly with standing seam roof over
rigid insulation over metal deck on steel beams and metal bar joists,
and two large removable skylights. Low slope roofing systems above the
stairways will be modified bitumen membranes. The project willinclude,
also, space alterations in existing Building No. 170, located at the
gunline, and in existing Building No. 199 (Walker Hall). Space
alterations in Building No. 170, totaling approximately 390 SF, consist
of alterations and additions of toiletfacilities; space alterations to
Room No. 306, totaling approximately 650 SF, consist of the conversion
of classroom space into office and conference rooms; space alterations
to space into locker rooms and showers; space alterations to Room No.
334,totaling approximately 150 SF, consist of partial demolition of
the existing raised floor and ceiling systems to provide a new corridor
that will connect existing Building No. 199 with new addition. Rooms
306, 350 and 334 are located in existingBuilding No. 199. Support
systems on this project include and intrusion detection system (IDS),
400 Hz power, compressed air, Intercom, telephone, fire alarm and fire
sprinkler systems, emergency eye wash stations, overhead coiling doors
and plumbingsystems. Sitework includes exterior pavements, mechanical
and electrical distribution systems, area lighting, sidewalks and
landscaping and incidental related work Dam Neck, Fleet Combat Training
Center, Atlantic, Virginia Beach, Virginia. ApproximateSolicitation
Release Date: 1 August 1995. A limited number of bid packages will be
available and issued on a first come first serve basis. There is no
charge for the first set of specifications and half-size plans.
Additional sets will be furnishedat a cost of $20.00 for half-size
plans and $49.00 for full size plans. No more than two additional sets
