The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) is soliciting actuarial firms to perform one or more of the following items for terminated plans under the direction of PBGC: (1) To collect and correct participant data and create standardized data bases; (2) To determine PBGC-payable benefits and calculate their present value under Title IV of ERISA; (3) To perform estimated cutbacks of benefits to levels allowed under Title IV of ERISA; (4) To prepare standardized abstracts of plan documents; (5) To prepare standardized benefit listings, automated benefit statements, and benefit recalculations; (6) To review final data bases for transfer to PBGC's paying agent; (7) To review work previously performed for the plan sponsor and reconcile it with the termination valuation; (8) To review previously processed cases; (9) To assist in benefits administration; (10) To value liquidations and annuitizations; (11) To provide litigation support in actuarial matters; (12) To assist PBGC in preparing its annual financial statements; (13) To perform actuarial studies on the universe of defined benefit pension plans; (14) To develop and document software to assist in the items above; and (15) To provide other actuarial assistance related to pension plans as required. The period of performance for the base contract will be from date of award to September 30, 1996, with four one-year options for renewal. Requests for copies of the solicitation must be in writing and must reference RFP No. 95-0022. No telephone requests will be honored.
