N -- INSTALL STANDBY POWER SYSTEM, HOOVER DAM AND POWERPLANT, BOULDER CANYON PROJECT, ARIZONA - NEVADA SOL 1425-5-SI-30-11850 POC Contact Ms. Sonja Poindexter, Procurement Technician, 702-293-8524; Synopsis No. 95-23 The major work to be performed under this solicitation is to install Government-furnished materials and equipment for the Standby Power System. The work includes furnishing and placing concrete pads (one for the generator and one for the load bank resistors and transformer), furnishing and installing various lengths of 2, 3, and 4-inch sizes in diameter of rigid conduit, furnishing and installing 750 MCM wire, and installing Government-furnished materials and equipment which includes (1) 1500 KVA transformer; (2) 900 KW load bank resistor system; (3) 2000 amp bolted switchgear; (4) motor operated transfer switches; (5) 3 conductor 500 MCM; (6) 600 Volt power cable; (7) 3 conductor 350 MCM; (8) 5KV power cable; (9) 600 Volt control cable; and (10) 1250 KW Cummins Onan Diesel Generator for the Standby Power System. Work will include removing and salvaging two (2) existing 225 KW diesel generators and fuel tanks. The estimated cost range of this project is $100,001 to $250,000. The location of this project is near Hoover Dam and the Visitors Center, 7 miles, via U.S. Highway 93, northeast of Boulder City, Nevada, in Clark County, Nevada and in Mohave County, Arizona. The performance time for completion of this project is 150 days. The presolicitation notice (SF-1417) for this project is currently available. All responsible sources may submit an offer. For this acquisition the standard industrial classification code is 1731 and the small business size standard is $7 million. The estimated issuance date of the solicitation is September 1, 1995. The estimated date for receipt of bids is October 2, 1995.
