For further information, call Contract Specialist Kristine Hostetler at 206-526-4546 The Marine Mammal Research Program of the National Fisheries Service has a requirement for up to ten (10) satellite receiver units. These units will use Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and will be attached to Hawaiian monk seals to determine the seals's locations. Specifications include but are not limited to: unit must be able to operate in temperatures ranging from 0 to 50 degrees centrigrade; unit must be submersible and operable to depths of 1000m; unit must not exceed 10 cm x 10 cm x 15 cm and weigh no more than 2.5 kg; unit must be hydrodynamically designed; unit must determine and store latitude, longitude, time of day, and date for 1000 locations; unit must determine location with a standard error rate of less than 0.5 km; unit must include electronic computer interface. Three (3) units must be delivered 150 days after award for first article testing. The remaining units will be delivered after approval of testing.
