30,000 ton hot asphalt concrete pavement; 32,000 ton emulsified treated
base; 71 acres clearing & grubbing; 88,000 ton untreated aggregate
courses; 3,116 lnft pipe culvert; 134 lnft structural plate culvert;
2,000 lnft underdrains; 260 lnft pipe arch culvert; 9,300 lnft silt
fence; 190,000 cuyd excavation; 4,000 M-Gal watering; 18,000 sqyd
roadway obliteration; 50,000 cuyd unclassified borrow; 33,000 lnft
fence; 5,300 sqft gabions; 30,000 sqyd earthwork geotextiles; 15,000
lnft guardrail; 141,000 sqyd topsoil; 340 hrs rental equipment; 33,920
cuyd riprap; 10,500 lnft controlled blast hole; 4,500 hrs flagging;
300 hrs pilot cars; 116,000 lnft permanent pavement markings; 2,500
slry units seeding & mulching; 800 lnft waterline; and other small
items of work. Work shall be completed by November 1, 1996. Estimated
price range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Presolicitation
Notices are being provided to firms on this agency's mailing list
concurrently with the publication of this synopsis.----The following
applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small
and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
