R -- MENTAL DISORDERS EDUCATION PROGRAM SOL NIMH-95-DA-0007 POC Contact Point, LouEllen M. Rice, 301/443-2696, Contracting Officer The purpose of this procurement is to support the Mental Disorders Education Program of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). This program will educate mental health and health care professionals, business leaders, and the public about mental illness, particularly anxiety disorders and those mental illnesses which are comorbid with, or overlap with, anxiety disorders. Activities will include (1) Development and production of information materials, based on the latest developments in mental illness/anxiety disorders research; (2) Effective and cost-effective marketing and distribution of materials, through a wide variety of outlets and intermediaries, to ensure communication/knowledge exchange with target audiences; (3) Development of media outreach strategies and placement of stories, interviews, etc.; (4) Dissemination of information about the education program's progress to program intermediaries and other audiences, both within NIMH and outside the Institute; and (5) Evaluation, including the tracking and monitoring of media placements, 800 number requests, and usage of program information and materials. A thirty six month cost reimbursement type contract with two one year options is anticipated. RFP #NIMH-95- DA-0007 is scheduled for issuance on or about 15 days after publication of this notice and will close approximately 45 calendar days thereafter.
