F -- INDEFINITE QUANTITY CONTRACT FOR NATIVE PLANT PROPAGATION FOR NATIONAL PARKS IN THE SIERRA NEVADA RANGE SOL 1443-CX-2000-94-020 POC Marlene R. Haussler, 303/969-2046 The National Park Service is seeking a nursery or plant propagation organization to propagate native plants for National Parks in the Sierra Nevada Range, including but not limited to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Yosemite National Park, and Lassen Volcanic National Park. Native plant materials derived from parent stock obtained from the immediate vicinity of wherethe material will be installed is needed for revegetation projects in the described National Parks. The National Park Service goal of this project is to revegetate disturbed sites while protecting the genetic integrity of plants within the park. The type of materials to be produced includes tree and shrub seedlings, forb seedlings, and grass plugs. Plants shall be grown in a nursery facility located in the state of California. The scope of work includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Seed and cutting collection: Collect seed, cuttings, and native soil for mycorhizaal inoculum from designated area within the National Park. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, and transportation needed to collect seed and cuttings for plant propagation. 2. Production: Provide a permanent greenhouse/nursery facility with heat, water, fertilizer, insecticides, fungicides, and photo period as needed to ensure the propagation of healthy seedings. Stock under production must not interbreed with other ecotypes of the same species, and potting mix must not be contaminatedwith weed or species alien to the park. Provide appropriate measures of hardening to prepare stock for successful transplanting into the park. Records must be maintained throughout production and provided to the National Park Service. 3. Holding: Provide holding for produced plant materials which will ensure healthy stock if there are changes in the delivery date, including repotting when necessary. 4. Installation: Deliver and install the produced plant material, including appropriate soil amendments and associated planting practices, and provide a guarantee for a one-year period. The National Park Service will award an indefinite quantity contract to the successful offeror who's offer conforms to the solicitation and is most advantageous to the Government, cost and other factors considered. Individual task orders will be placed to order services as they are required and the funding becomes available.The total of all task orders per year will not exceed $50,000. The selected firmis guaranteed a minimum amount of $10,000 throughout the life of the contract. The term of the contract shall be one year with four additional one-year options.This procurement is set aside for small business concerns. The Standard Industrial Code for this procurement is 0831. To the fullest extent, the NPS welcomes the participation of women and minority-owned and operated firms.
