The DSS and station equipment will be installed in the Acute Care Facility and related structures on the Naval Medical Center. This requirement is for a subcontractor to engineer, furnish, install, and make operational a digital switching system to satisfy the needs of the Naval Medical Center. The proposed switch must be engineered to accommodate a capacity of 15,000 ports (analog and digital), with 8,670 ports wired and 6,350 ports equipped. Multiple switching systems with limited capacity will not be considered as an acceptable configuration. The system must be ISDN capable, must support Primary Rate Interface over OC3/OC12 Sonet, will interface with the local exchange carrier's network, must accommodate a hubbing arrangement for a metropolitan area voice/data network, FTS 2000, and Defense Switched Network, must be able to support remote switching systems, and must interface with a number of electronic key systems of multiple manufacturer existing on the Naval Medical Center. Included in the fixed price contract will be a 12-month maintenance and operation period and switch cutover and final acceptance. This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) and requires the submission of technical and price proposals. Price is weighted equally with technical. Technical factors are listed in descending order of importance: Equipment and Installation, Corporate Experience and Resources, and Schedule and Quality Control.
