filled steel pipe piles in place; 13,500 lnft silt fence; 109,000 cuyd
roadway excavation; 4,000 m-Gal watering; 9,000 sqyd roadway
obliteration; 6,400 cuyd structure excavation; 10,500 cuyd
subexcavation; 108,800 ton select topping; 43,000 sqft simulated stone
masonry surface treatment; 23,800 sqyd earthwork geotextiles; 1,570
lnft guardwall; 200,000 sqyd placing conserved topsoil; 8,000 lnft
landscaping log; 4,900 sqyd polystyrene foam; 2,700 sqyd geomembrane;
13,800 lbs reinforcing steel; 1,760 hrs rental equipment; 2,000 cuyd
reinforced concrete retaining walls; 1,400 sqft geotextile reinforced
earth wall; 12,500 ton riprap; 3,400 lnft ditch lining riprap; 6,300
sqft stone masonry; 1 ea removal of bridge; 10,000 hrs flagging; 3,500
hrs pilot car; 1,800 sqft construction signs; 4,000 lnft plastic
fence; 182,200 lnft permanent pavement markings; and other small items
of work. Work shall be completed by November 1, 1997. Estimated price
range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Presolicitation Notices
are being provided to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently
with the publication of this synopsis.----The following applies only
to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The
Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
