805-982-2479 This will be a design build contract. This work includes
the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment necessary for
structural repairs to an area of second floor framing, and the
restoration of three existing rooms, two bathrooms, three walk-in
closets and one sleeping porch. The structural repairs are required to
correct an existing settlement in second floor framing in west
corridor. Restoration of existing spaces consists of installation of
new doors and hardware, trim, woodwork, wall/ceiling finishes and
painting, floor finishes, built-in cabinetry, tilework in bathrooms,
operational plumbing fixtures, window screens and hardware, light
fixtures, one ornamental fireplace (which need not be operational) and
incidental related work. All items are to be refinished and/or
replaced with period pieces or finishes, matching as close to the
building's original condition as possible. All work is to be conducted
in accordance with The National Historic Preservation Act of l966, as
amended and 36 CFR Part 800, Protection of Historic Properties. Plans
and specifications will be available on or about 07 August l995. The
proposed contract listed here is being considered for l00 percent
set-aside for small disadvantaged business (SDB) concerns. SIC Code
1542. Interested SDB concerns should, as early as possible, but no
later than l5 days of this notice, indicate interest in the acquisition
by providing the contracting office above evidence of capability to
perform and a positive statement that it is an economically
disadvantageed business concern, fax (805) 982-9l2l. If adequate
interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be
issued as full and open without further notice. Therefore, replies to
this notice are requested from all business concerns as well as from
SDB concerns. Estimated cost range is between $l00,000 and
