324-2459 or 4182. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a
requirement for the demolition of a Tire House facility and the removal
of Hazardous waste material at the FBI Academy, U. S. Marine Corps
Base, Quantico, Virginia, 22135. The work consists generally of the
following: (1) Demolition and removal of a tactical firearms training
facility constructed of steel belted radial tires filled with sand and
stacked upon wood poles. (2) Removal of hazardous waste consisting of
sand, tires, gravel, soil, etc. (3) Removal of non-hazardous surplus
tires and miscellaneous materials. (4) Grading, soil and erosion
control, and construction of a storm water management pond. The
estimated cost of this work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Copies
of drawings and specifications will be available by mail only.
Estimated release date is July 20, 1995. A Pre-Bid conference and site
visit is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, August 3, 1995, at 10:00
a.m. local time at FBI Academy, Jefferson Dormitory, Quantico,
Virginia. A 72 hour advance notice is required to attend the conference
and site investigation. Bid Opening is tentatively scheduled for 2:00
pm local time on August 30, 1995, at FBI Headquarters Room 6875, JEH,
FBI Building, 10th and Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.
20535. Bids may be hand-delivered to the Bid Opening, or mailed to the
FBI Attn: Mr. Ronald W. Chiodi, Room 6875, JEH, FBI Building, 10th &
Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20535. Mailed bids must be
postmarked at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled date for bid
opening. Please reference Invitation For Bid (IFB) 6861 in your
written request. All solicitation requests must be in writing.
Specifications and detailed requirements will be furnished with the
solicitation, BY MAIL REQUEST ONLY, for a deposit of $200, (LIMIT OF
ONE (1) SET PER FIRM). Bid sets will be issued on a first come first
serve basis until supply is exhausted. Bid sets will be sent by mail
only. Deposit for solicitation is refundable when bid sets are
returned. Performance and Payment Bonds ARE REQUIRED for theis project.
No phone call request for documents will be accepted. All requests for
copies of the solicitation must be postmarked no later than fifteen
(15) days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Any request
postmarked after the 15 days will be subject to the availability of
