Y -- CONSTRUCTION OF SERVICES FOR UPGRADING THE FIRE LOOP BUILDINGS AT PANTEX PLANT Sol. M&H 95-003. Contact Point: R. D. Darrah, 806/477-3844. This ad is for an expression of interest (qualified sources sought) for a contractor to furnish all plant, labor, material, and supervision to construct an upgrade to the existing fire system at the U.S. Deprtment of Energy's Pantex Plant, located 20 miles Northeast of Amarillo, Texas. The upgrade consists of a new well building at 15-16 including new mechanical, electrical, communications and utilities. Bbid Aternates: 1) new pump, piping, well building including new mechanical, eletrical communications, and utilities at 15-32. 2) Demolition of existing buildings at 15-20 plus new mechanical, electrical, communications and utilities. 3) Demolition of Tank 15-22 (150,000 gallon elevated steel tank. 4) Install remote pressure and flow monitoring system. 5) Demolition of tank 15-21 (150,000 gallon elevated steel tank). 6) Demolition of buildings 15-1, 15-12, and 15-13. 15-1 is a 32 foot x 22 foot brick and tile building. 15-12 is a 28 foot x 28 foot pump booster station, building 15-13 is a 115 foot x 32 foot building with a 78 foot x 32 foot x 10 foot deep basement. 7) Demolition of Tank 15-14 (2,335,000 gallon steel tank). 8) Demolition of building 15-6, a 23 foot x 9 foot water well buildiong. 9) Connecting the water pressure monitoring system to seven buildings. Asbestos abatement will be required on the demolition. Construction of this project will require access to the Plant's exclusion area and will be subject to DOE security controls and directives. Construction Personnel must be U.S. citizensl and 18 years old for access to the site. The estimate total construction cost is between $2.5M and $3.5M. Estimated construction time is 365 days after Notice to Proceed. Bid specifications and drawings will be available approximately mid July, for A non-refundable cost of $100.00. For bid packages, submit written request to R. D. Darrah, Procurement, Building 16-12. The prebid conference is estimated to be scheduled between August 2 and August 9, 1995. It is anticipated that a firm fixed price construction contract will be awarded as a result of the expression of interest and resultant Request for Proposal. All responses should be received by July 12, 1995 and directed to R.D. Darrah, Procurement Department, with non-refundable cashier's check or money order made payable to Mason & Hanger - Silas Mason Co., Inc. for $100.00 per set. This is not a Request for Proposal.
