61 -- SWITCHGEAR FOR CENTRAL PLANT SOL 52SBNB5C8803 DUE 082495 POC Elaine Libman (301) 975-6331, Pauline Mallgrave (301) 975-6330 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Maryland, has a requirement to purchase a new switchgear for the campus central plant, Building 302. The new switchgear will be for direct replacement of the existing. Each of the three sections of the new switchgear will be fed by an overhead bussduct, one each from three 1500 KVA transformers. Each section of the switchgear will have a main breaker and each section will be connected to the other two by a tie breaker. Out-going feeders are both overhead and under the slab cable in conduit. Engineering of the new switchgear must coordinate with the in-slab conduit to avoid interference of the switchgear structure and the conduit. The switchgear shall be front and rear accessible and each of the three sections shall have provisions for at least 12 draw-out breakers, not including the main and tie breakers. The system is 3 phase, 4 wire, 277Y/480 VAC. The main and tie breakers shall be 4000 Amp. Delivery shall be within 140 days after award, FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland--It is anticipated that the award will be a firm fixed price contract.
