Project shall renovate three floors of dorm space in Bldg 3117. There are approximately 75 sleeping rooms, 3 day rooms, 3 laundry rooms, and 6 bathrooms. Total bldg area is approximately 36,000 Sq. Ft. Building is cast-in-place concrete construction with masonry partition walls throughout. Civil Work: Sidewalk replacement, some landscaping, new steps. Architectural Work: Complete demolition of existing interior finishes, including carpet, cove base, gypsum board and suspended ceiling systems. Demolition work also includes, but is not limited to, window curtains, room furniture, bathroom partitions, etc. Installation of new finishes such as paint, vinyl wall covering and suspended ceiling systems. Also includes the installation of doors and frames, and other miscellaneous items/furniture. Carpet, cove base and drapes will be installed by others. First floor shall meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements as shown. Mechanical Work: Complete gut of all heating and plumbing systems. Replace with new hot water heat system and a fresh air ventilation system. All new bathrooms (6) and laundry rooms (3). Design and installation of a new sprinkler system. Electrical Work: Complete demolition of existing electrical distribution system and lighting, fire detection, cable TV, and telephone system in the building. Demolition of existing electrical service and installation of a new service to include new transformer, service lateral, and main distribution center. Installation of new electrical distribution and lighting, fire detection, telephone and cable TV systems throughout building. Additives: Exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS) and window replacement. SIC Code is 1522. The magnitude is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This action is being considered for 100% set-aside for Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) concerns. Interested SDB concerns should notify this office, in writing with supporting documents such as references with names and phone numbers, and qualifications for a similar project, of their intent to bid as a prime contractor as early as possible but not later than 15 Jul 95. This project will issue on or about 25 Jul 95. Performance period shall be 150 calendar days. All request for bid packages must be submitted in writing to this office accompanied by a check or money order payable to U.S. Treasury in the amount of $40.00.
