The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration intends to issue a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), requesting proposals to perform scientific research on marine mammals within the three Central California National Marine Sanctuaries: Monterey Bay (MBNMS); Gulf of the Farallones (GFNMS); and Cordell Bank (CBNMS). Proposed studies must have a direct impact on marine mammals that occupy the Monterey Bay, Gulf of the Farallones, and Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuaries and must have sanctuary management and marine mammal management implications. Studies should deal with marine mammal habitat utilization issues, and should focus on one or more of the following species: blue whales, humpback whales, Steller sea lions, harbor porpoises, Pacific white-sided dolphins, and Risso's dolphins. Fixed-priced contracts will be awarded resulting from this Broad Agency Announcement. Contract performance periods shall not exceed three (3) years. Because of overall funding limitations, no individual contract will be awarded for a price in excess of $75,000.00. Proposal requirements and evaluation factors are included in the BAA.
