Privott, 804/441-6560 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration is seeking interested parties in providing a vessel for
a time charter to support National Marine Fisheries Service, Northeast
Fisheries Science Center, fisheries research in the western North
Atlantic Ocean from approximately October 30, 1995 through November 16,
1995. The vessel will be delivered and redelivered in Woods Hole,
Massachusetts. It will operate between 35 and 45 degrees north latitude
up to 250 nautical miles off the U.S. coast. It must have a minimum of
18 day and 3000 nautical mile endurance and accommodate 6 scientific
personnel. An A- or J-frame and hydrographic winch or other suitable
method of conducting scientific tows, or deck space for a NOAA supplied
winch/A-frame is required. Scientific equipment requirements include a
flow-through thermosalinograph, flow-through fluorometer, and a
computer system capable of gathering and integrating water depth,
ship's speed, and sea surface temperature. If an otherwise suitable
vessel does not possess this scientific equipment, then deck space to
locate a NOAA supplied scientific electronics van is required.

responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by
the agency. Copies of the solicitation will be provided in response to
written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor.
