Westinghouse Hanford Company, Richland, Washington is seeking response
from businesses interested in the commercial development and promotion
of a technology developed by Hanford employees. The hand-geometry
(biometric) card is a small, wallet-sized identification card
containing a microprocessor that can store and process a variety of
information. Biometric data, stored on the card, can verify the
identity of the bearer for purposes of authorizing entry or it can be
used to grant or deny access to additional sensitive information stored
on the card. WHC is seeking one or more partners to complete commercial
development and to market the resulting product. Qualified business
partners should have adequate resources to promote this invention,
including the completion of development as required and the marketing
of the finished product. WHC facilities, equipment, and employees may
be made available to support development. Contract format may involve
Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA), Work for Others
contract, Licensing arrangements, and/or others, as appropriate.
