Information Technology Services (ITS) of the Library of Congress is requesting information describing currently available, or soon to be available, high capacity, high performance robotic optical disk libraries. Appropriate libraries must be configurable for direct attachment to an IBM RS/6000 server. Information is requested for those robotic library products that scale in capacity from a few hundred gigabytes of data storage up to at least one terabyte of available data storage. The information provided should detail fully, the device's minimum and maximum data storage capacities and its scaling paths, its performance specifications in terms of volume access time and data read/write times, its built-in continuous operation and high availability features, and all its related costs. This notice is not a request for proposal. Firms that can provide the system described above are encouraged to submit the information requested in writing (original and one copy) to Melissa Stevenski.
