Brightseat Road, Landover, MD 20785 70 -- TEST AND EVALUATION OF AN INTEGRATED CACHE DISK ARRAY SOL
RFI95-7 POC Kaye Klinker, Contracting Officer, (202)707-8608.
Information Technology Services (ITS) of the Library of Congress plans
to test and evaluate a high capacity, high performance, integrated
cache disk array from the EMC Corporation of Hopkinton, MA. ITS plans
to use this disk array to develop, test, and evaluate the high
performance component of a hierarchically structured mass storage
facility required as part of the National Digital Library Initiative of
the Library of Congress. The ITS considers a disk array storage
capacity of one terabyte to be appropriate. Additionally appropriate
are the capabilities, to attach directly to a minimum of six IBM
RS/6000 servers, to provide configuration administration facilities
directly compatible with the AIX Smit utility, to provide a RAID-5 or
compatible level of data protection, and to provide a hot sparing
capability. Other companies which have available, similar high capacity
small footprint disk array equipment that can attach directly to a
minimum of six IBM RS/6000 servers, that can be administrered by the
Smit utility, and that wish to make its equipment available at no cost
for similar testing are invited to contact Melissa A. Stevenski,
Contracts Specialists, (202)707-8606 to obtain information about the
procedures under RFI95-7. (0178) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0467 19950628\70-0006.SOL)
