16 -- ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR THE INTEGRATION OF THE FLIR/LD. POC Contact, Maria Melton, Phone (703)604-6100 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract with Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) for engineering and technical support for the integration of the FLIR/LD on the F-14 Aircraft. These efforts include: system engineering support of the FLIR/LD integration; air vehicle design of the F-14 A/C mods for the FLIR/LD integration on the F-14 A/C; engineering design and fabrication of pylon adapters for the FLIR/LD integration; technical support of Government conducted tests of the FLIR/LD; fabrication and installation of the A/C mod kits into F-14 Test A/C; fabrication of the initial quantity of mod kits for the F-14D A/C; technical documentation to support the Navy installation of aircraft mod kits; and logistics support for such A/C mods. NGC, as the designer, developer and producer of the F-14, is the only firm that possesses the technical expertise, engineering data and detailed knowledge of the F-14 aircraft required to integrate the FLIR/LD units on the F-14 aircraft.
