Federal Correction Institution (FCI), Manchester, KY, intends to award
a non-personal service contract for providing Pharmacy Technician
services to the inmate population at the FCI and Camp for fiscal year
1996. The Contractor will provide services 36 hours per week consisting
of three (3), 2-hour sessions per day, Monday through Friday, excluding
holidays. The Contractor, at a minimum, must be a high school graduate
with one year experience as a Pharmacy Technician, Licensed Practical
Nurse or Medication Aid. The Contractor will provide, but is not
limited to the following: Performs assessments, reading prescriptions
written by medical staff, determination of medications prescribed,
transcribing prescription data to labels using typewriter machines or
via computer system, preparing prescriptions to be reviewed by the
Chief Pharmacist or Clinical Director prior to dispensing, and giving
pertinent patient instructions when appropriate. Maintaining sufficient
inventories on all medications and other pertinent medical supplies.
Documentation of expiration dates for proper tracking of medications.
The Federal Correctional Institution, Manchester, KY intends to award
a base year contract in FY 1996 with options to renew the contract for
three (3) consecutive years. Requests for Proposals should be
submitted in writing only. Telephone and facsimile requests will not be
accepted. All responsible offers within the competitive range will be
considered. Solicitations will be available on or about July 10, 1995.
