H -- HEALTH CARE CONSULTANTS. The State of Georgia, Department of Medical Assistance (DMA) is soliciting proposals for a statewide contractor to educate Medical Assistance recipients about their health care options under Medicaid, explain the benefits of Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) membership, and enroll those who choose an HMO option with one of the participating HMO's in the Medicaid Program. The Marketing and Enrollment Contractor (MEC) will focus on the Atlanta Region initially but will be expected to cover the entire State by the end of the calendar year 1997. The initial contract will run from the date of issuance until June 30, 1996. DMA subsequently may renew the contractor three (3) times for terms of up to one (1) fiscal year each, subject to funding authority and satisfactory performance by the contractor. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued on or about June 16, 1995. An offeror's conference will be held at the DMA offices on Thursday, July 6th. All proposals will be due on Wednesday, August 16, 1995. After a period of implementation, the Marketing and Enrollment Program will become operational by Mid-November 1995.
