Furnish and install one each Composting Machine with shredder attachment for paper and cardboard. Customized system that can be built to fit the outside measurements of 10' x 9' x 18' (w x h x l) with provisions for sewer and electrical hookups and must be able to be placed outdoors. The system must accept a food generation rate of 500 pounds per day and a total organic load of 750 pounds per day. The bulking agent should constitute 250 pounds per day of waste paper, cardboard, wood chips, shredded brush and sawdust. Finished compost should be discharged in a minimum of 28 days. Water requirements should be less than 5 gallons a day and electrical requirements should be less than 20.00 kw/day. Biofilter must be installed in system to control odors produced by decomposition and to keep the area free from rodents. No measurable odors should be detectable and the system should be virtually noise free. Parameters for loading the vessel should be flexible so that it can be loaded every day or every other day depending upon the operators preference. System must contain a shredder portion with an auto-control that will shred paper and cardboard for the admixture or bulking agent. Installation of the unit should take one day only and training should be provided by the manufacturer in operation of the system on-site. Operation of the system should be virtually maintenance-free with temperature and moisture levels adjusted continuously and automatically by a computer to ensure optimum composting conditions. System must operate outdoors in a temperature range from -32 degrees to 95 degrees fahrenheit to produce a composted material in a minimal 28 days. System should be constructed of double-walled stainless steel on the inside and burnished steel on the outside and insulated to control the heat produced when organic materials decompose. Internal parts should be non corrosive stainless steel to provide continuous and reliable service. (172)
