Project consists of removing existing roofing systems complete from a total of nine (9) buildings located at Boca Chica, Truman Annex, and Trumbo Point Annex, and replacing them with new roofing systems. The work specifically includes the removal, disposal, and replacement of roofing shingles, asphalt built-up roofs, rigid insulation, metal flashing, and deteriorated wood including framing, fascia, soffit, and roof sheathing. Additionally, the work includes lead and asbestos abatement, painting. Tentative issue date of solicitation is 10 August 1995. Bid opening date is approximate. The estimated cost range for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. SIC Code is 1761. The related small business standard is $7,000,000. Period of performance is 210 calendar days from date of award. The resulting contract will be a lump sum firm fixed price contract. This procurement is being considered for 100 percent set-aside for small disadvantaged business (SDB) concerns. Interested SDB concerns should, as early as possible but not later than 15 days of this notice, indicate interest in the procurement by providing to the contract office above: evidence of capability to perform (including references for similar work with telephone numbers, points of contact, and contract numbers), statement indicating bonding capability, and a positive statement of eligiblity as a small socially and economically disadvantaged business concern. If the procuement is set-aside for SDB concerns, plans and specifications will be issued to SDB concerns only. If adequate interest is not received from SDB concerns, the solicitation will be issued as full and open competition (unrestricted) without further notice. Therefore, replies to this notice are requested from all business concerns as well as SDB concerns.
