OF STEERING/SHIP CONTROL SYSTEM EQUIPMENT. SOL N00024-95-R-4166 DUE

ext. 414. Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a Basic Ordering
Agreement (BOA) to Sperry Marine, Inc., 1070 Seminole Trail,
Charlottesville, VA 22201. The purpose of this BOA is to perform the
following functions: a. Receive, Open, Inspect Government- owned,
Sperry Marine Inc.-Manufactured (SMIM) Steering/Ship Control Systems;
b. Repair, Alteration, and Maintenance of SMIM Steering/Ship Control
Systems; c. Preplanned Product Improvement (P3I) materials and services
for the SMIM Steering/Ship Control Systems; and d. Provide Replacement
Spares and Components for the SMIM Steering/Ship Control Systems.
Orders will be issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2303 (c)(1). Sperry Marine,
Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the DDG 51 and
some other ships Steering Control Systems and as such is the only
company qualified to perform the above functions on its steering
control systems. No other source has the technical qualifications and
the necessary resources to perform the work described herein, nor will
any other supplies or services satisfy the Navy's requirements. See
