Allen, (513)267-3993 Supply and Install Data Communication Network at the VA Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio. The Medical Center requires an FDDI dual ring fiber optic network backbone running between Buildings 330, 126, 120 and 410. Using these buildings as ''HUB'' locations, 12, 6 or 4 strand (minimum) fiber will be run to adjacent buildings to support ethernet connectivity. In some cases low count fiber will then be run from these buildings to additional buildings to support user devices. The contractor will integrate the existing DEC ALPHA FDDI network into the overall netwok. Replace all existing horizontal wiring distribution in the indicated buildings. This replacement will be with Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable that conforms to the industry standards for category 5 use. This horizontal wiring replacement will include the installation of all associated data patch panels, modular wall plates, inserts, termination blocks, office and closet jumper cables and any other required adapters, cables or jumpers. It is envisioned that a single 4 pair UTP run will be made to each existing device, in the indicated buildings, and terminated in the users area in a modualr wallplate that is equal in quality/functionality with the DECconnet product line.
