Park Service, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, in support of NOAA,
Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, and Cordell Bank
National Marine Sanctuary, has identified a requirement to acquire
services of an Environmental Education Specialist to develop integrated
educational programs incorporating both management areas, develop and
implement curriculum for marine education, highlighting sanctuary
resources, develop field-based interpretive programs highlighting
sanctuary resources, including implementation of recruiting and
training of volunteer docents for on-the-beach interpretation. In
addition, the Environmental Education Specialist will participate in
outreach and career day activities, prepare a number of one-page fact
sheets on sanctuary resources, design and distribute sanctuary
newsletter, fill day-to-day requests for educational information, and
develop content for a CD ROM disk/program on the sanctuaries for use as
an educational tool in schools and outreach programs. Award of a
contract for a base period of 1-year with a 1-year option to be
exercised at the discretion of Golden Gate National Recreation Area,
subject to availability of funds, is contemplated. The Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this procurement is 8748.
Significant evaluation criteria, in descending order of importance,
are: (1) background in environmental education with an ability to
develop and implement curricula, (2) ability to communicate orally and
in writing, with experience in public speaking and a record of written
materials on a publication list, (3) knowledge of marine organisms and
oceanographic processes off the coast of central and northern
California, (4) experience in developing volunteer programs and
supervising volunteers, (5) proficiency with word processing and
desktop publishing applications, and (6) local office within 100 miles
of NOAA, Gulf of the Farallones NMS and Cordell Bank NMS Headquarters
at Building 991, Presidio of San Francisco, Golden Gate National
Recreation Area. This solicitation is 100% setaside for Small Business
concerns. Solicitation 1443RP-8140-95-049 will be available o/a
