Work includes, but is not limited to: repair of all elements of the airfield lighting system to include the testing and replacement of all defective conduits, cables, fixtures, light bases, lamps isolation transformers, power transformers, regulators, junction boxes, regulators, junction boxes, cutouts, switches, control cables, and all associated airfield circuit and lighting equipment; replace the Visual Approach Sight Indicator system (VASI) with a Precision Approach Path Indicator light system (PAPI); replace west end overrun approach fixtures, defective semi flush light fixtures and isolation transformers; replace isolation transformers; install new control system to control all facets of the airfield lighting system; provide and install new control system and necessary switching equipment to control all functions of the central air field lighting vault regulators, west end vault regulators, beacon tower pole transformer and all associated airfield lighting circuits. The contractor or sub-contractor performing work on the airfield lighting and lighting control projects must have successfully completed at least two projects similar in nature involving installation of runway and taxiway lighting at an active air carrier airport or military airfield and the installation of airfield lighting control systems (computerized type and traditional relay type) valued over $500,000 in the five consecutive years immediately preceding bid opening date. The estimated cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The period of performance will be 270 days. This procurement is being considered as a potential 100% set-aside for small, disadvantaged business (SDB). Within 15 days of this notice, any interested SDB should provide written notice to the Contracting Officer stating that it positively intends to bid on the project and is capable and qualified to perform the work described. If sufficient interest is not received from SDB concerns, the procurement will be full and open competition. Therefore, all interested firms should respond to this notice. The soicitation will be issued on or about 06 Jul 95 with bid opening date on or about 07 Aug 95. Only written responses for solicitations will be honored.
