AN ADDRESSABLE TYPE AUDIO BASED FIRE ALARM EVACUATION SYSTEM COMPLYING
WITH NFPA 101. FIRE ALARM SYSTEM SHALL INCLUDE NEW DUCT SMOKE
DETECTORS, ELEVATOR RECALL FUNCTIONS, ELECTROMAGNETIC DOOR HOLDING OPEN
DEVICES, SUPERVISION OF EXISTING SPRINKLER SYSTEM, KITCHEN HOOD
EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS AND CO2 EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM. REPLACE EXISTING
TOTAL FLOODING HALON FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM CT SCAN ROOMS NA400M AND
NA400N WITH A SUB-FLOOR CO2 EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM UTILIZING THE EXISTING
EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM RELEASE CONTROL PANEL. EXTEND SPRINKLER COVERAGE
TO CT SCAN ROOMS NA400M AND NA400N, COMPUTER ROOM E100 AND ELEVATOR
SHAFTS. EQUIP SPRINKLER SERVING ROOMS NA400M AND NA400N, AND ROOM E100
WITH DEDICATE FLOW SWITCHES TO FACILITATE EQUIPMENT POWER SHUTDOWN
UPON FLOW OF WATER IN THE ASSOCIATED AREA. PROVIDE ELEVATOR CARS WITH
WARNING/EVACUATION SIGNS ACTUATED BY HEAT DETECTORS LOCATED IN THE
ELEVATOR MACHINE ROOMS AND HOISTWAY. HEAT DETECTORS SHALL BE
INDEPENDENT OF THE BUILDING FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS. PROVIDE EMERGENCY
LIGHTING IN THE BASEMENT, 13TH, 14TH AND 15TH FLOOR MECHANICAL AREAS,
AND IN THE DARKROOM, PROVIDE STAIR GATES WITH ELECTROMAGNETIC HOLD OPEN
DEVISES IN STAIRWAYS AT THE FIRST FLOOR LEVEL TO PREVENT OCCUPANTS
MISTAKENLY EXITING FROM ABOVE FLOORS TO THE BASEMENT. WORK INVOLVES
DEMOLITION IN AREAS WITH ACM DUCT INSULATION, PANEL BOARDS AND CEILING
TILES AND PAINTED SURFACES WITH LEAD=BASED PAINT AS INDICATED, AND MAY
REQUIRE CONTAINMENT AND/OR REMOVAL OF SAID MATERIAL AS NECESSARY. PART
B FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM,BUILDING 200H, NAVAL HOSPITAL GREAT LAKES,
ILLINOIS EXTEND THE EXISTING WET PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEM TO AFFORD
PROTECTION THROUGHOUT BUILDING 200H. WORK SHALL INCLUDE PROVIDING A NEW
MOTOR DRIVEN FIRE PUMP AND INSTALLATION OF DELUGE SPRINKLER SYSTEM FOR
PROTECTION OF EXISTING ROOF TOP COOLING TOWER. WORK INVOLVES
DEMOLITION IN AREAS WITH ACM DUCT INSULATION, PANEL BOARDS AND CEILING
TILES AND PAINTED SURFACES WITH LEAD BASED PAINT AS INDICATED, AND MAY
REQUIRE CONTAINMENT AND/OR REMOVAL OF SAID MATERIAL AS NECESSARY. THE
SIC CODE FOR THIS PROCUREMENT IS 1731 AND THE SIZE STANDARD IS $7.0M.
THIS PROCUREMENT IS BEING CONSIDERED FOR 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL
DIS-ADVANTAGED BUSINESS (SDB) CONCERNS. INTERESTED SDB CONCERNS SHOULD,
AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE, BUT NO LATER THAN 23 JUN 1995 INDICATE INTEREST
INT HE ACQUISITION IN WRITING BY PROVIDING TO THE CONTRACTING OFFICE
ABOVE A POSITIVE STATEMENT OF YOUR INTENT TO BID. YOU MUST ALSO PROVIDE
