This requirement is for an air filtration assembly to remove air contaminents of 10-micron from an airstream. The design is comprised of two sub-assemblies, which are a filter element holder and a filter element. Fifty filter element holders and fifty-five filter element sub-assemblies are required. The assembly is exposed to an air stream that ranges from -120 deg F to 650 deg F and a total flow rate of 240,000 scfm. The filter element holder will be fabricated from 304L stainless steel components. The filter element will be fabricated from materials compatible with the stated temperature range. The filter element will be of a molded-end style with a porous stainless tube inside and stainless steel end caps. The filter element overall dimensions will have a 10-inch inside diameter and a 15.5 inch outside diameter with an overall length of 24 inches. The filter element will have a surface area of approximately 125 square feet per element with a face velocity of 36 ft/sec with an accordian style fin which is supported by stainless wire mesh on the outside. The filter element clean empty weight should be approximately 40 pounds and have a pressure drop not to exceed 0.05 psid at the stated flow rate.
