Coast Guard Supply Center is seeking qualified sources that can
provide the inspection, overhual, testing, packaging, and shipping of
the following Twin Disc reduction gears: Twinn Disc MG-506-1 for 32'
PWB vessels, NSN 3010-01-142-5147; Twin Disc MG-521 for 75' WLIC
vessels, NSN 3010-01-058-0117; Twin Disc MG-540 for 160' WLIC vessels,
NSN 3010-01-088-3782; Twin Disc MG-514 for 55' ANB vessels, NSN
3010-01-127-6490; and Twin Disc MG-518 for 82' WPB vessels, NSN
3010-01-136-5214. It is the Government's belief that only Twin Disc or
their authorized distributors can furnish that required parts and
ensure the proper fit, form and function of all its components.
However, other potential sources with the expertise and required
capabilities to furnish other than Twin Disc parts can submit such data
discussing the same in duplicate within 15 days from the date of this
announcement. The following information must be proviced to evaluate
the acceptability of the offered replacement parts: 1) Complete and
current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the
offered replacement parts (i.e. Salient physical, functional, and
serviceability characteristics, or 2) Data that the offered replacement
parts have been satisfactorily provided to the Government or the
original equipment manufacturer. This data must include sufficient
information to allow the Coast Guard to evaluate the proposal relative
to the above requirements. No cost or pricing data is required. THIS
IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This
synopsis is issued pursuant to FAR 5.207(e)(3). See numbered Note 22.
This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned,
and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are
available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum
line of credit is $500,000. For information and applicable forms
