301-344-0252 Y--Pre-Solicitation Notice-The contractor shall provide
all material, labor, equipment, and supervision, etc. necessary for
construction of Fuel Oil Storage/Distribution System, Phase I, at the
Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC), Greenport, New York. The
work includes construction of a temporary oil spill containment berm,
removal of existing containment berm, removal and disposal of oil
contaminated soils, construction of an oil spill containment area with
a storm drainage system, installation of reinforced concrete
foundation slabs for the new oil storage tanks, construction of a small
oil delivery truck unloading and containment area, provide and install
two 210,000 gallon fuel oil tanks with all necessary equipment,
facilities, and services to include a complete process piping system
with containment piping, valves, pumps, supports, testing, oil leak
sensors and tank level controls and instrumentation, provision of a
temporary oil piping system during construction, removal and disposal
of asbestos containing materials from valves, elbows, piping, and soil,
installation of supporting electrical work and removal of all
demolition materials from PIADC by ferry. The total estimated cost of
construction for this project is between $900,000 and $1,400,000. Time
for completion of the work will be 180 calendar days from date of
issuance of Notice to Proceed. A pre-proposal meeting is tentatively
scheduled for July 27, 1995, at Plum Island. Sets of plans and
specifications will be available at no charge (ONE SET PER BIDDER), by
WRITTEN request to STV/Sanders and Thomas, Attention: Bob Kondrath, 11
Robinson Street, Pottstown, PA 19464. Supply is limited and will be
made on a first come, first serve basis. Approximately 50 sets will be
made available. The solicitation is scheduled to be released on or
about July 14, 1995, with bid opening on or about August 15, 1995. THIS
PROCUREMENT IS RESERVD FOR SMALL BUSINESS. STANDARD INDUSTRIAL
