POWER AMPLIFIER - SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT The Army is contemplating
the release of a requirement based FFP contract through an RFP, for
radio terminal UHF high power linear amplifier applique designed to
meet unique Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) (MIL-STD-188-182 AND
MIL-STD-188-183) switching times while operating within the DAMA
waveform. Such power linear amplifier applique will interface with the
AN/PSC-5 hardware. NO GFE CAN BE PROVIDED. A functional and narrative
specification for these UHF high power linear amplifier applique is
near completion and will be available to interested parties prior to
release of the formal RFP. Top level minimum desired technical features
follow: Frequency Range: Power amplifier (transmit): 290 to 318 MHz;
Frequency Range Pre-amplifier (receive): 243 to 270 MHz; Power
Amplifier Input Range: 0.125 to 18 Watts; Output Power: (Adjustable
18-100 Watts); Turn On Time: ''less than'' 375 microsecond; Turn Off
Time: ''less than'' 500 microseconds; Pre-amplifier Gain: 45 dB
minimum; Pre-amplifier Noise Figure: 3 dB maximum; Input power: 115 VAC
nominal prime power; 24 VDC nominal prime power: Interface
Emission/susceptibility: IAW AN/PSC-5(A3159887); Single Antenna port,
single radio port: Transmit key line available from radio; Weight shall
not exceed 12 lbs.; Limited design drawings will be requested for
analysis of basic design, reliability, EMI considerations. These
drawings may be in contractor format and are expected to be proprietary
in nature. Drawings required with the procurement will be to support
mechanicical interchagebility and electrical installation. All
technical data supplied will be properly protected and returned.
