Officer, (301) 826-1828 x108. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft
Division, Patuxent River, Maryland, has a requirement for a total of
twenty-one (21) Plating and Rinse Tanks for the new Plating Shop being
developed in Building 2186 of the Naval Air Station. All tanks shall
be fabricated from either .75'' thick PVC, polyethylene, or
polypropylene. There shall be a .75'' x 2.75'' rim on all tanks. Ten
(10) of the twenty-one (21) required tanks shall be rinse tanks and
shall include a dam type overflow 48'' or 52'' long with a 3'' welded
half coupling outlet. Eleven of the twenty-one (21) required tanks
shall be chemical process tanks which must contain an outer 1/2'' thick
plastic tank that will serve as secondary containment. Additionally,
all chemical process tanks shall have a plastic base to raise the tank
rim to 36''. Two (2) of the eleven (11) chemical process tanks shall
be hot tanks. Each hot tank will require one steel girth encapsulated
in plastic. Individual tank numbers shall be stencilled with 4'' high
black letters and appropriate numbers. All twenty-one (21) tanks shall
have outside dimensions of 52'' long x 38'' wide x 36'' deep. Inside
tank dimension requirements vary. Ten (10) of the twenty-one (21) tanks
shall have inside dimensions of 48'' long x 34'' wide x 34'' deep.
Eleven (11) of the twenty-one (21) tanks shall have inside dimensions
of 52'' long x 34'' wide x 34'' deep. Of the eleven (11) chemical
process tanks, two (2) are hot tanks. The other nine (9) chemical
process tanks shall be used for one each of the following process
descriptions: (1) Nitric Acid tank, (2) Hydrochloric Acid tank, (3)
Cadimum tank, (4) 5-3 Chromate tank, (5) Aluminum cleaner tank, (6)
Desmutter tank, (7) Irridite 14-2 tank, (8) Chromic Acid tank, and (9)
Sulfuric Acid Anodize. Interested parties may request copies of the
