Herting, 202/326-4160 The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to issue a solicitation for actuarial consulting firms to perform one or more of the following services regarding pension plans being monitored by or in negotiations with the Corporate Finance and Negotaition Department (CFND): (1) to perform actuarial calculations and analyses of the underfunding of pension plans on a plan termination basis, the PBGC's Claims for a plan's failure to make minimum funding contributions and, in some cases, allocation of the calculated amounts into bankruptcy priority categories as specified by the PBGC; (2) to determine IRC Section 412 (n) lien amounts and employer liability under ERISA Section 4062 (e); (3) to make projections of future years' funding status and minimum funding contributions; (4) to provide litigation support in actuarial matters, and other technical assistance as required. In addition, PBGC intends to limit competition to those offerors who maintain an office in the Washington, D.C. Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
