A -- MAGNETICALLY DAMPED FURNACE BITTER COIL 1 MAGNET ASSEMBLY POC Contact Steve Morris, GP37, Telephone (205) 544-0380, Contracting Officer The Government intends to negotiate with the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL on a sole source basis for the follow-on effort for the Magnetically Damped Furnace Bitter Coil 1 Magnet Assembly. The contractor will design, develop, and test a breadboard version of a Bitter Coil Magnet to support the development of a Magnetically Damped Furnace for the Space Station Furnace Facility environment. The contract type will be cost reimbursement/no fee. A period of performance of 8 months is anticipated. The estimated value of the contract is $50,000. See Note 22. (0159)
