U.S. Dept. of Transportation intends to issue a firm fixed price
contract for the following equipment: five/or ten peripheral
workstations and/or central processing units that will interact.
Workstations to include 100 pound scale platform, w/thermal printer,
bar-code wand, 3 megabyte of ram memory, 12'' display screen and
keyboard, mailing machine. Maintenance agreement for one year and 4
option years on the above machines and will be for one base and 4
option years of meter rental for the above machines. The Government
plans to entertain trade-in of up to 10 machines. This equipment must
be able to physically connect and communicate with existing machines or
be able to communicate with each to create a lan environment. This
acquisition approach is based on equipment compatibility and cost
