The NAVSTAR Global Positioning System (GPS) Joint Program Office (JPO) is soliciting offerors interested in producing the GPS Antenna System-1 (GAS-1). The GAS-1 consists of a Null Steering Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA) and Antenna Electronics (AE). The GAS AE interfaces with a 7-element CRPA antenna, GPS receiver equipment and host vehicle. The GPS JPO is planning to award a Non-Developmental Item production basic contract with four annual options for approximately 1462 AE units, and 899 CRPA units. A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) type of contract is contemplated. The anticipated method of procurement is a best value source selection. All sources responding should have a DoD clearance or be eligible to obtain a DoD secret clearance. The formal request for proposal and technical sample is planned for late Jun 95 with technical sample/proposal delivery in early Dec 95. This is not a solicitation for proposals/technical samples. This acquisition has been determined to be full and open competition.
