Description of content: An application to amend the Australian Food Standards Code to permit the use of salts of citric, lactic, maltic or tartic acids in soft drinks and fruit drinks. 7. Objective and rationale: Align with current standards in food technology. 8. Relevant documents: Australian Food Standards Code, Standard O4 - Soft Drink and Drink Products; and Standard O9 - Fruit Drinks and Fruit Drink Products. 9. Proposed date of adoption and entry into force: Recommendation to Government by 11 November 1995, and entry into force to be decided. 10. Final date for comments: The domestic closing date for comments is 14 June 1995.
