(202)720-9891 The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has a
requirement to develop Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
Generic Models required for the implementation of the Pathogen
Reduction HACCP regulation. FSIS is seeking potential sources with
scientific expertise to develop generic models for use by regulated
companies with limited knowledge of HACCP, particularly by small
establishments that may have limited technical resources. The purpose
of the models is to provide guidance in devising plant-specific HACCP
plans. Sources will be expected to involve a variety of subject matter
experts (i.e. academics, industry representatives, public health
officials, and consumers). FSIS is seeking responses from Small
Business Concerns or Small Disadvantaged Businesses only. Interested
sources may submit a capabilities statement to the U.S. Department of
Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service, Contracting Office,
Room 2159 South Building, 14th & Independence Ave., SW, Washington, DC
20250-3700. Closing date for submission is 10 days after publication
of this notice. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes
