sought to provide components of an intrinsically safe telephone system
for use in areas where an explosive astmosphere is possible. Breakout
is as follows: 1) Instrinsically-Safe Telephone, for use in explosive
atmosphere, UL approved for hazardous areas Division 1, Class I: Groups
A, B, C, D, Class II; Groups E, F, G, Class III: Division 2 (same
Classes and Groups as Division 1); CSA approved for hazardous areas
Division 1, Class I, Group A, B, C, D, Division I, Class II, Group G,
Division 1, Class III; Enclosure Type 3R (raingtight), glass-reinforced
polyester; 2-wire full duplex; 92dB shrill type ringer. GAI-TRONICS
part no. 272, or equal. Qty = 49 EA. 2) Line Card, modular, Isolation
Barrier Unit, provides station operation for item 1 intrinsically safe
telephone, remotable up to 1 mile from telephone over standard 2 wire
telephone cable. GAI-TRONICS part no. 265, or equal. Qty = 49 EA. 3)
Power Supply, modular, Isolation Barrier Unit, selectable 120 VAC/230
VAC input power, provides power to item 2 line card and item 1
telephone. GAI-TRONICS part no. 266, or equal. Qty = 7 EA. 4) Subrack
Chassis, Isolation Barrier Unit, for mounting of line cards and power
supply for intrinsically telephone system 19 inch EIA rack mounting.
GAI-Tronics part no. 267, or equal. Qty = 7 EA. 5) Patch panel, modular
telephone line cord, for wiring and patching of intrinsically safe
telephones, 19 inch EIA rack mounting. GAI-TRONICS part no. 268, or
equal. Qty = 4 EA. 6) Cable, JK, shielded, 2 wire, 22 AWG, for remoting
of intrinsically safe telephones,500 ft per box. Qty = 25 Boxes EA. The
applicable SIC code for this acquistion is 3661 and Small Business size
standard is 1,000. Interested firms are requested to provide a
technical capabilities package (ie: product literature, brochures) for
evaluation or evidence of a capability to perform the minimum
requirements no later than 15 days after publication of this synopsis.

issuance of a solicitation may result from this survey, this notice
should not be construed as a commitment by the government. In addition,
Patrick AFB will not pay or otherwise reimburse respondents for
information submitted. Firms responding to this announcement should

The government reserves the right to consider this acquisition for the
8(a) program, small disadvantaged business set-aside/or small business
