The excavation will include digging hold pits in the contaminated fill and physically removing the free floating petroleum products with absorbent pads. The biocell includes supplying the liner, cover material, PVC vent screen, and construction of biocell. This contract will also include reconstruction of the ditch settlement pond system and construction of a ditch to drain the biocell. The project is located adjacent to the Shoal Cove Log Transfer Facility on the east side of Carroll Inlet which is north of the bay of Shoal Cove. It is situated approximately 17 air miles and 20 water miles northeast of Ketchikan, Alaska. It is accessible by boat or float plane to the proximity of the site and thence approximately 100-1000 feet from the dock. Estimated price range is between $25,000 to $100,000.
